How long does custom software take to build?

Typical timescales for discovery, design, build, testing and launch — and what speeds them up.

What affects the cost and timeline?

Every project is different, but the same few factors account for most of the cost and time. Understanding them helps you plan a realistic budget and decide where to invest.

Discovery

Usually two to four weeks to agree scope and plan.

Design

Wireframes, prototypes and UI typically take three to eight weeks.

Build

Development in sprints, typically ten to twenty weeks depending on scope.

Testing

QA runs throughout, with a dedicated test phase before launch.

Decisions and feedback

Fast, clear feedback from your side is the biggest factor in staying on schedule.

Our indicative prices

These are typical ranges for projects we deliver, priced for small and growing businesses. They are a guide, not a fixed price list: depending on scope, your project may come in below or above these figures. Every project receives a fixed, itemised quote after a free consultation. Prices exclude VAT where applicable.

How to keep costs under control

Start with a clear scope, launch a focused first version, and add features based on what users actually do. A short discovery phase is the best way to get an accurate estimate.
